We came to Studio with a lot of prerequisites and some primitive maps\ flow charts related to the disciplines we discussed. We dove into an even more detailed conversation about Design Disciplines.
Every discipline has categories which it can be divided further into. For example product design caters to industrial design (category), which further offers to automobile or transport design and can then broken to into public transport, vehicle design etc.
Disciplines are interrelated and often act as stepping stones for each other to function as a whole.
Zomato a food delivery service has an entire system which involves restaurants, food delivery person, the end customer and the software technician writing the code and ensuring the system runs smoothly. But the app itself, which is intangibles is considered a product which may have been worked on by UI\UX designers. To set a Visual language for the app, or to give it a nice sound profile and to market it, tools of communication are used.
The above example had particular elements from some disciplines and broader categories from others. We are to identify these and break them down further on mind maps.
