13 September 2019/Class 7/ Ms.Meenal Sutaria
The class started with a video featuring Olafur Eliasson who is an artist and a sculptor. In the video we were shown his work which had a lot of abstractions. Even though the models didn’t resemble anything we see around us they seem to capture the flow or gesture of the things which these sculptures were inspired from.

We were shown examples of some paper models which seemed to resemble the likes of some our grips. At the same time they looked nothing like grips. Even if they had this visual look which was far apart from what our grips actually look like, they seem to be representing the enclosed space within and at the same time tension and the easiness of the grip. Angular lines were used to depict strong grips while soft ad wavy curvers seem to be depicting loosened ones.

After looking at the videos, we were told to imagine our prototypes differently and add another level of complexity to it taking inspiration from the images shown to us.
