MIND LINES

11 September 2019/Class 5/Ms.Mitali More

After covering rendering of fabric textures in the previous class, wewere shown how fabrics are to be rendered when they are transparent and put on a figure with a lighter skin tone. Through the colouring technique, the viewer should be able to make out that there is a thin covering of a cloth on top of the body. Light shades such as white and grey are to be used along with the colour of the fabric. We shifted to embroidery and detailed work done on fabrics. That is to be drawn on the fabric with thin lines while keeping in mind that it has a certain elevation.

L to R: Braided hair blonde and black, transparent fabric, A face with different types of hair

Different hairstyles and their rendering thorugh lines were shown. Hair should be separated into individual sections(Free flowing and curvy) and then shaded along the contours of the said clump while filling in lines running parallel to each other. Curly hair and braided hair were shown with paints. An undertone is to laid down before working on both. Details are added on top after the diluted undertone dries up.
