22 August 2019/CLASS 3 & 4/Ms. Kanika Sharma
The novel prescribed to us, Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, was to be read till the first chapter berforehand and discussed in the class today. The discussion started off with the author’s background and later moved on to a brief description of the first chapter and the characters involved. We discussed how the characters react to events in the books which helps us draw a character sketch with their qualities.

After the discussion about the chapter was over, we were told to write 10 attributes about ourselves. A disscussion took place after that which revealed that these attributes or qualities which we associate ourselves with are apparently “labels” which we have given by either the people around us or ourselves. We were told to look at our words again and give them a second thought. After coming up with the attributes we were told to write metaphors related to these. Metaphors compare one subject to another without using the words “as” or “like”. All these activities were to continued in the studio session.
